Activists meet Governor to save Harmu river
Ranchi: Under the aegis of Vikas Bharti Bishnupur, a delegation of ‘Save Harmu River Campaign Committee’ members met Governor Dr Syed Ahmed on Monday to aware him about the present plight of Harmu River. They asked the Governor to interfere into the matter of making Harmu river free from encroachment and pollution. For this reason they presented a memorandum along with a copy of the High court decision concerning this river’s safety.
BAU stresses on encouraging rural literates
Ranchi: Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) Vice Chancellor Dr MP Pandey at the 26th Academic Council meeting on Monday emphasized on encouraging the rural literates with the agriculture field. In today’s scenario it is a challenge to connect such people for establishing proper agriculture communication. Dr Pandey also urged the officials to request the Governor to speed up the recruitment process of the vacant posts existing in the university.
Rally for water conservation
Ranchi: A rally on spreading awareness on conservation of water was organised jointly by DWSD and Bio-informatics polytechnic, Hulhundu on June 17. The rally which was attended by as many as 500 students of the polytechnic was flagged off by Chairman District Council Sundari Tirkey. Besides students, Manger Centre for Bio-informatics, Augustin and other college officials were also attended the rally.
Delay in online distribution of certificates
Ranchi: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vinay Kumar Choubey conducted a meeting on Monday on the alleged irregularities and delay in online distribution of certificates. Choubey instructed the officials to address the issue. On this occasion, Deputy Development Commissioner of Ranchi, Block Officers of Ranchi and Bundu were also present.
