Staff Reporter

Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale said on Friday that facilities such as wheelchairs, ramps, suitable toilets and more will be made available to the elderly and disabled voters.

The disabled and senior citizen voters will also not have stand in queue, she said.

Also, they will have the option to vote by postal ballot through form 12D.

Training is being imparted to the polling personnel to make them sensitive and aware of their special needs, she said.

Free transportation facilities will be arranged from their homes to the polling station and back.

Dummy ballot papers will be available to the visually impaired and they will be allowed to take a companion when they vote.

Chhattisgarh will see assembly elections on November 7 and 17.
