P K Sinha, Director Technical, (P & P), SouthEastern Coalfields ltd (SECl) has been selected as the new Chairman Cum Managing Director of Northern Coalfields limited.The results were out this afternoon in an interview conducted by Public Enterprise Selection Board (PSEB), a SECl press release informed here on Tuesday.
Born in January, 1962, Sinha Graduated in Mining Engineering from Ravi Shankar University, Raipur (Now NIT,Raipur) in the year 1982 and First Class Mine Manager's Certificate Competency in 1986.He acquired Post
Graduate Degree (M.Tech.) in Mine Planning & Design from ISM, Dhanbad (Now IIT-ISM) in the year 1988.
He is a seasoned professional with 35 years of experience in Coal India ltd. and has worked as Head of production unit in various Opencast and Underground mines of different subsidiaries of CIl since 1998. Sinha worked at micro level in Banki colliery of SECl from 1982 to 1988, with record achievement of more than 100% target for four consecutive years.
He worked at senior positions in Majri, Chargaon and Gondegaon collieries of WCl from 1993 to 2007 with similar achievements.
Sinha has also worked in Science and Technology division of CMPDIl (HQ).
He has represented Indian Coal Industry in the World Mining Congress at Poland in the year 2008 and atIstanbul (Turkey) during the year 2011 and also visited Sweden, Switzerland and Germany for training in Advanced Management Development Programme during the year 2014.
