last 2 days before polls 'most sensitive': CEO

SR

With barely two days remaining for the third and final phase of lok Sabha polls in Chhattisgarh, the State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sunil Kujur on Monday directed officials to treat the period as ‘most sensitive’ in terms of possible poll expenditure made by candidates in various constituencies.

While stressing on strengthening intelligence gathering, Kujur has directed the flying squad team, static surveillance team and video surveillance team to keep a round-the-clock vigil on expenditure being made by the candidates.

The CEO has also directed the members of the flying squad team, static surveillance team and the video surveillance team not to assign other duties to policemen deputed with them for enabling stricter vigilance activity before the polls. If the teams require assistance of para military force personnel to maintain vigil, the same would be provided to them, he said.
