The Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) has made elaborate arrangements to ensure safe and incident-free Ganesh Idol immersions .
As per the schedule, Ganesh idol immersions will be performed at Patan Pulia near Mahadev Ghat on Kharun river bank from September 8 to 14.RMC Commissioner, Avneesh Kumar Sharan has assigned the officials concerned including RMC zone commissioners, the task of ensuring administrative arrangements for the same .
The authority has decided on a procession route for Ganesh idols/tableaux to be taken for immersion from Sharadh Chowk via Jaistambh Chowk, Kotwali Chowk, Sadar Bazaar, Satti Bazaar, Kankali Talab road, Purani Basti Thana Chowk, lily Chowk, lakhe Nagar Chowk, Sundar Nagar Chowk and Ring Road Chowk to Mahadev Ghat.
The city police have made elaborate traffic arrangements at the procession route.The RMC Commissioner has constituted a committee to ensure all the administrative arrangements at Mahadev Ghat including flood lights, tents, divers, motorboat, search lights, stage, mike, long boot, rain coat, ropes, life-saving medicines, water tankers, crane, ambulance and fire brigade’s vehicles.
Besides, a Control Room will be established at the idol immersion point.RMC will erect temporary tents at lakhe Nagar Chowk, Telibandha Talab and Budha Talab to collect Ganesh idols for immersing the same at Mahadev Ghat.The idols will be collected at the aforesaid collection points from September 8 to 12.The civic body officials have urged the people not to immerse Ganesh idols at any reservoir in the city to save the same from pollution.
As many as 10 priests will perform ‘puja’ before immersing the idols at Mahadev Ghat.The Commissioner also issued directives to ensure adequate lighting arrangements at the procession route.He also asked the officials concerned for availability of generators to ensure uninterrupted power supply in case of power failure.
