Four hardcore Maoists surrendered before senior police and district administration officials here on Wednesday. The insurgents surrendered before Bastar Inspector General of Police (IG) S R P Kalluri, Bijapur District Collector Yashwant Kumar, Bijapur Superintendent of Police (SP) K l Dhruva, and Deputy Inspector General of Police (CRPF) Komal Singh.
The surrendered Maoists were identified as ACM KKW Division Atunagaram Madhepur lOS Deputy Commander Poyyam Bomada alias Anil (25) of Jangla village, ACM KKW Division Atunagaram Madhepur lGS Commander Veko Moti alias Poyyam Sarita (24) of Bhairamgarh village, DAKMS member Kuhram Pandu (26) of Bhairamgarh village and CNM Commander Arjun Oyami alias Sonach (19) of Bhairamgarh village.
Atunagaram Madhepur lOS Deputy Commander Poyyam Bomada had joined the Naxal movement in June 2008. He took training in Metagudem of South Bastar in 2009.Thereafter, he joined Mirtur lOS as member, Siuth Bastar Jantana as member, Cherla lOS as member, SZC Protection Guard before being promoted to the post of Atunagaram Madepur lOS Deputy Commander.
The insurgent was involved in encounter of April 2013 in Singham village under Pamed police station limits, encounter of January 2014 in Depla village under Bhadrakali police station limits and encounter of April 2014 in Kamlapeta village. The State Government had declared a reward of Rs3 lakh on his head.
Atunagaram Madhepur lGS Commander Veko Moti was recruited by lOS Commander Santosh in November 2006 in the Naxal movement. She worked as KKW Platoon member, SZC security guard of Naxal Sudhakar, SZC security guard of Naxal Haribhushan. She was involved in encounter of April 2013 in Singham village of Pamed area near Talperu River and gun battle of December 2, 2009 with greyhounds in Joden ghat of Adilabad district in which Suresh and Punem were killed. The State Government had declared a reward of Rs5 lakh on his head.
Kuhram Pandu joined the Naxal movement in June 2009 as Bhatwada DAKMS member. CNM Commander Arjun Oyami had joined the movement in 2012 and worked as Bodga CNM member between 2012 and 2014.
