Chief Minister Raman Singh on Monday approved an additional installment of 8 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) on the revised salary scale of nearly 1.8 lakh teachers coming under the Panchayat category in the State.
As a result, an estimated 95,000 teachers with a service span of below 8 years and another estimated 14,000 teachers drawing regular, time-bound salary would receive the benefits of the DA hike effective from January 1, 2013.
This apart, those teachers with over eight years of service span numbering an estimated 38,000 would start receiving the additional DA benefits effective from May 1, 2013.
