I too disagree with the views of Swami Agnivesh on several issues, but thrashing him is not justified and is condemnable”, said Yoga guru Baba Ramdev.
Baba Ramdev was in the city on Friday to participate in a private programme.
Talking to reporters here at Swami Vivekananda Airport, he criticized the attack on social activist Swami Agnivesh in Jharkhand.
“In so many issues I have difference in opinion with Swami Agnivesh but an attack on him is condemnable”, he said. Notably Swami Agnivesh had charged that he was thrashed by activists of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) when he was going to address a public gathering of ‘Pahadia’ community at littipada in Jharkhand. When asked to comment on the incidents of Kathua and Mandsaur, he said it was really a matter of contemplation why it was happening so. “It is unfortunate that image of our country is becoming to be a nation of rapists and corrupt people”, he said. Ramdev further asserted that the rape incidents must be stopped.
