The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested three government officials in Chhattisgarh’s Kondagaon district for accepting bribe, a senior ACB officer said.
They include Executive Engineer R.B. Singh, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) R.B. Chaurasia and Deputy Engineer D.K. Arya, all posted in the Water Resource Department in Kondagaon, ACB Superintendent of Police Panakaj Chandra told The Pioneer.
They sought Rs 24 lakhs from a civil contractor to release his pending bills of construction works worth Rs 1.11 crore, the officer said.
They were caught red-handed while accepting Rs 1.30 lakhs as an advance to release the payment at the SDO’s place, he said.
