Body of an 80-year-old year man was found near a pond under Khamtari police station on Friday, police said. The man was missing since August 21 morning, police informed.
According to Station House Officer Khamtarai the deceased was identified as Shiv Bhagat Sahu (80) resident of Khaula village under Khamtarai police station. Sahu used to sleep in a two-room house situated in his farm land about a kilometre from house where his family lived.
“On August 21 after taking dinner Shiv Bhagat Sahu went to sleep in farm house. The next morning he did not returned. His family members then reached the farm house and searched him around but could not find him,” police investigators said.
Police further said after receiving information from family members of deceased a missing report was registered on August 21. later on August 23 (Friday) body of Shiv Bhagat Sahu was found in a local pond near the house. Multiple wounds made with some sharp edge weapon were also seen on his body. Blood spots were also found in the farm house of deceased, police said. A case of murder has been registered in this connection and police is investigating the murder case.
