One guest was killed in celebration firing in Faizabad while a police constable died under mysterious circumstances in Gonda and lastly five persons were killed when the ambulance in which they were shifting a patient rammed with a truck at Faizabad on Wednesday morning.
In Faizabad, the marriage function of Mahima Singh, daughter of Ajay Pratap Singh was going on at Ferojpur locality of Purakalandar on Tuesday night. Around mid-night some baratis opened fire to celebrate the occasion. Ashok Singh hit one of their own guest identified as Balikaran, a native of Ferojpur hamlet of the district. He was taken to near-by hospital in critical condition but the doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. A case was registered in this regard and Ashok Singh was arrested. Efforts were now on to Satyam Singh who absconded.
In Gonda, one constable (Armed Police) Ravikant Yadav, who joined service just two years back along with two more constables took one under trial for check-up from District Jail in Gonda to District Hospital on Wednesday morning. Reports said that Ravikant suddenly disappeared from the hospital so his colleagues informed the senior officers about it. However, few hours later, the cops recovered the body of the victim from his official quarter with bullet injury on his head. Ravikant’s rifle was found lying near the body. local police who rushed to the spot claimed that prima facie it looked that the cops committed suicide. However, they send the body for post-mortem examination and were waiting for autopsy report.
In another road mishap reported from Faizabad district, an ambulance was carrying some patient to Faizabad when the driver in a hurry to save life of the victim rammed the vehicle inside a truck parked on side of the road at Devkali hamlet of Ayodhya on Wednesday morning. Five of the ambulance occupants identified as Shiv Kumar Shukla (32), Ramdarshan (33), Uttim Khan (48), Ayub Khan (22) and Ramshankar Verma (23), all residents of Gonda died on the spot. Two of the occupants including the patient was critically injured in the mishap and they were referred from Faizabad District Hospital to Trauma Centre here at King Georges Medical University. A case was also registered and the body was sent for post-mortem examination.
