SP will form Govt again: Yadav

PNS

Feeling the heat after the successful rally of Mayawati in lucknow on Thursday, the Samajwadi Party claimed that the party would sweep the next Assembly polls and bag over 300 seats – more than it had won in the last Assembly elections.

Party in-charge, Shivpal Singh Yadav stressed that the SP will win mnore than 300 seats and will form the next government in UP. “Mark my word, the Samajwadi Party will sweep the next elections and will form the government in 2017 again,” Yadav told reporters in lucknow on Friday.

He rubbished a recent poll survey projecting a hung Assembly with Bahujan Samaj Party winning 180 seats, BJP 120 and Samajwadi Party only 85.

“That opinion poll was a farce. The BSP will not be able to win more than 50 seats and  the BJP will be reduced to merely 20 seats. The SP will be the major gainer and will sweep the Assembly election with 300 plus seats,” he procastinated.

When his attention was drawn towards the new BJP state chief's claim of winning seats in the excess of 265, Yadav said that Keshav Prasad Maurya has failed to make the right assessment. “If the BJP can win even 40 seats in 2017, it would be a big achievement for the newly appointed state chief. The ground reality is that the party will win only 20 seats,” he said.

Yadav said that the Congress will fare poorly because it has lost its ground in the state and its vote bank has shifted to the Samajwadi Party. He felt that in the given scenario, it will be difficult for the Congress to even touch the double digit mark.

“The Samajwadi Party is confident because it will ask for votes on the basis of its performance. What we have done in the last four years, no party can even think of doing in four decades. Pick up any sector and you will find work being done by the government,” he said.

Signing off, Yadav said, “I am confident that the Samajwadi Party will pass the next political examination with distinction.”
