Lok Dal president Choudhury Sunil Singh on Thursday announced that his party will have a pre-poll alliance with Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.
Singh told reporters in Meerut that the way Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Chaudhary had ignored Muslims in the election rallies and now he was dreaming to form the next government in the state he would have to bear a heavy loss.
"The inclination of Muslims towards Lok Dal and AIMIM is increasing because Akhilesh Yadav sat for the whole five years ignoring Muslims. Now even in the elections, they have adopted a strategy to keep themselves away from Muslims," Singh said.
He said seats, the seats which Lok Dal and AIMIM would contest, would be announced soon.
