DGP's comment draws Cong ire

Pioneer News Service, PS

Director General of Police, Rizwan Ahmed’s, comment on Hindu Vahini leader’s killing in Ambedkarnagar reacted sharp criticism from Congress which alleged that the top cop of the state is once again working at behest of the State government to fuel communal tension which could result into riots in the State.

We are saying for  the last few months that Samajwadi Party government had a tactical understanding with the leaders of the Bharatiya Janta Party hence they were using the government machinery to push the state on communal bomb which could explode anytime", alleged senior Congress leader Siddarth Priya Srivastava. Reacting on DGP Rizwan Ahmed’s comment  here on Monday evening, Congress leader said that how the killing Babu had anything to do with Gujrat. Will Rizwan Ahmed would clarify that even if his claim of Babu’s killing just to avenge Gujrat riots or fueling communal tension in the State is believed than he must also tell that what gain will the killers would made by later killing Hindu Vahini leader’s kin", questioned Siddharth Priya Srivastava adding that if the reason is to avenge Gujrat riots than the killers would just target Hindu organizations senior leaders and not family members of just one person. It may be mentioned that on Sunday, Rizwan Ahmed claimed before media persons that the killing of Hindu Vahini leader, Ram Babu in Ambedkarnagar has been orchestrated to settle score of riots in Gujrat and also to fuel communal tension in the area.

State government is trying to kill two birds with one stone", further claimed Srivastava while accusing Akhilesh Yadav and his team for trying to save their Party MlA who has been also named as one of the main accused by Babu’s family, as it would not just save them from embarrassment but linking of criminals with Gujrat would also fuel communal tension and would help SP through polarization of votes in the coming Parliament elections.

Further alleging nexus between BJP and SP and that government machinery has been used to fuel communal tension, Srivastava, who is also an aspirant for Congress ticket from Gorakhpur Parliamentary seat, cited the recent Muzaffarnagar riots. In Muzaffarnagar also, the government machinery has been used to fuel communal tension into simple killing of three members of two families over eve-teasing. The government saved one party which resulted into Panchayats by the two communities and later resulted into riots", claimed Srivastava adding that similarly in Ambedkarnagar, what seems to be simple killing of one Party members over their dispute with SP MlA, the government used the top cop of the State to give it a communal turn by linking the killings with Gujrat riots. Srivastava said that besides the above there are numbers of examples which buttressed their claims of secret pact between leaders of SP and BJP. While Mulayam always had praises for BJP leaders which included lK Advani, Narendra Modi etc, recently he waived off entertainment tax from film Rs Jai Hu’ just as the hero of the film Salman Khan praised Narendra Modi and many Muslim organizations had raised serious objection to it", claimed

Congress leader. He said that more than hundred of riots in the State since Samajwadi Party came to power is also a pointer that both parties had shake hands to polarise the vote-bank and capitalise  on it in the general elections.
