Cong leaders want quick decision on Babbar

Buoyed by the victory in three Hindi-speaking states, Congress leaders in UP reiterated their demand before the party brass to immediately end the confusion over the state leadership. The workers suggested that a delay in decision-making would only hamper the party’s prospects in UP ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha poll.

“For the last one year after internal Party’s elections, we all are waiting for the high command to take a final call on the future of the state president as confusion is unnecessary taking its toll on the working of the party,” claimed one of the sitting MLAs while reacting to the Congress prospect in UP in the next parliamentary elections.

The leader, who did not wish to be named, said that though Babbar was continuing as the state president but as the party’s high command signalled to replace him, the committees either at the state level or even at the district level were not announced. “The members and leaders of existing Committees, both at the state level as well as district level, are unaware whether they will continue or will be replaced, so they are taking least interest in working with full devotion and sincerity to strengthen the party in the state”, the leader asserted, adding that similarly Babbar was also just passing his time and had so far not started any big campaign against the misrule of either the Central government or against the state government.
