After being cornered by Opposition parties in the Assembly over dipping law and order, now Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati attacked the BJP regime saying that the government has failed to fulfill it’s constitutional duty of providing security to the people of the state. She alleged that goondas (criminals) were having weilding power in the society than government agencies.

Reacting to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statement that his government would deal with criminals ‘in a language they understood’, Mayawati said that the government appears to be ‘ignorant’ that only the language of law is required to deal

with them. “It only requires a firm resolve and will to make criminals understand the language of law,” she said.

The BSP leader claimed that people did not get benefit from the change in guard as the crime rate has only soared. “On the contrary, caste violence and political vendetta have become common. Attack on traders have continued, who are the vote base of BJP and they are observing bandhs. Incidents at Saharanpur and Mathura have exposed the tall claims made by the present government. Protests against power woes have also become common,” Mayawati claimed.

The BSP chief said for promising to usher in change in UP, , it should be a matter of grave concern ffor the BJP that even the policemen were being beaten up today. In fact, most cases of caste and communal violence were conspiracied of the BJP,” Mayawati alleged.

The BSP leader demanded that the rule of law be maintained by the Yogi government or else the poor and downtrodden particularly Dalits will be harassed by the `goons’ of ruling party.
