BJP slams SP for launching incomplete projects

PNS

The Bhartiya Janata Party accused the ruling Samajwadi Party of rushing with the inauguration of incomplete development projects as the Assembly polls are drawing closer. The BJP alleged that massive corruption prevailed in implementation of the development schemes in rural areas.

Accusing the SP government of being inefficient and directionless, Chief spokesman of the BJP Hridya Naryan Dikshit said that instead of focussing on utilisation of budgeted money in different departments, its sole priority seems to inaugurate projects which are far from being complete.

The BJP leader said that if immediate steps were not taken by the state government to stop the loot of public money especially in Panchyati Raj department, then the BJP after coming to power will set up high-level inquiry and the guilty would be brought to justice.

Dikshit further said that even as three quarters of the current fiscal 2016-17 is over, less than 50 percent of budget allocation has been utilised so far.

"The SP regime is in the habit of utilising most part of the budget in the last quarter of the fiscal in February and March which is a blatant form of corruption and loot of the state exchequer,’’ said the BJP leader.

Dikshit alleged that Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is trying to mislead the people with a spree of inauguration of incomplete projects but people won’t be swayed by such gimmicks as they have seen through SP's game.

"A major share of budget for development schemes in rural areas remains unutilised. Huge funds given by the Centre as per recommendations of the 14th Finance commission are yet to be utilised. The matter was raised by the BJP in both Houses of the state legislature during the last session which was ignored," he pointed out.

The BJP leader said that feedback received during Parivartan Yatra across the state, it surfaced that funds for rural dev-elopement under Panchayati Raj department are being misappropriated
