BJP sharpens attack on Samajwadi Party Govt

In the backdrop of Bulandshahar incident the Bharaiya Janata Party would sharpen its attack on Samajwadi Party Government for its failure to control crime in its two day state working committee meeting beginning in Jhansi from Saturday.

The strategy of the party has been well defined. It wants to hit Samajwadi Party where it hurts the most – the law and order front.  The BJP would use working committee meeting an opportunity to expose Samajwadi Party and project itself as the next alternative in Uttar Pradesh.

“Where is the alternative other than BJP,” asks Kesahv Prasad Maurya. BJP state president. “The ruiinng Samajwadi Party has failed to protect life and property of aam aadmi. People are leaving their hearth because of persecution of local goons, who are getting patronage from the ruling party. In Bareilly girls have stopped going to schools because of harassment and government is sitting as a mute spectator,” he said.

On the other hand BSP government has proved a disaster for Uttar Pradesh. Government money was used for construction of memorials of dalit icons while poor suffered. In this scenario only BJP can given su-raj (good governance), Maurya said.

To harp on this issue BJP has even coined a slogan – Na goonda raj, na bhrstachaar, ab ki baar bhajpa sarkar – hitting both Samawadi Party and BSP in one blow.

He said: “Beginning has been made from Moradabad where the party swept deputy Mayoral election. BJP polled over 60 per cent votes while the others including SP, BSP and Congress got less than 40 per cent votes. This reflects the strength of party at the ground level.”

Though this is the maiden state working committee meeting of Keshav Prasad Maurya as president, this would probably be the last meeting before the state goes to polls in early 2017. So, the party is in a hurry to smoothen rough edges and give party strategy a final shape.

Keshav Maurya said that party is nervous because people have high expectations from us. “We need to perform well. This is an opportune time for the party. We will hold series of meetings with office bearers - before the working committee meeting and after the meeting endson Sunday.  We need to evaluate the outcome,” he said.

The working committee meeting, which was postponed twice, would be inaugurated by Union MSME minister Kalraj Mishra on Saturday while the valedictory session will  be addressed by Union Hone minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday. Union Water Resources minister Uma Bharati, who is also a local MP of Jhansi would also be present in meet.

Meanwhile, party’s general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak said the two days meet will discuss prevailing situation in Uttar Pradesh threadbare. Party leaders will pass two resolutions – one political and other on agriculture. Besides this, other issues will also be discussed, he said.

Around 600 party leaders will participate in the two days meet. Party’s incharge and national vice-president Om Mathur, Organisational secretary Shiv Prakash and national general secretary Arun Singh will also address workers.
