Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Calling Pakistan’s bluff” (October 1). Uri is not the first occasion when Pakistan has thrown down the gauntlet at us. There have been several such provocations in the past as well. But, the then existing political leadership somehow failed to galvanise our Armed Forces into giving a befitting reply. The present military action was not only long overdue, but redeeming as well. Prime Minister Narendra Modi needs to be applauded for showing strong political will.
