Sir — It was reported in the American media that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was extremely pleased after talking with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi. Mr Netanyahu’s smile and his comments said it all.
During Mr Modi’s term as a Chief Minister of Gujarat, many State officials went to Israel for technology and agricultural study mission. Many of the thoughts that were gathered, were implemented in the State.
The ground reality and internal politics in India may prevent an immediate burst of open admiration for Israel, but the heart is in the right place and the intent is there. It’s just a matter of time.
