Sir — It is surprising that lionel Messi has announced his retirement after Argentina lost the Copa America Final against Chile. A player should show his constancy in all matches. But at times there are failures after all we all are humans. His failure to convert the penalty is not the biggest mistake. His overall performance with the team has been consistent. Messi should reconsider his decision in the interest of the game in general and his country in particular.
