After a crushing defeat in Bihar, the Gujarat civic poll result should come as a major setback for the BJP in Gujarat. The Opposition, especially Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rashtriya Janata Dal chief lalu Prasad and Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati are back into the picture.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi must now renew his lost charisma and fight back. Mr Modi must concentrate more on home-grown issues than on foreign policy, since he has done enough on the latter front. Concrete achievements rather than promises are vital.
