Sir — This refers to the report, “Army ‘exercise’ in Bengal rocks Delhi” (December 3). The deployment of Army trucks in the vicinity of the Secretariat in West Bengal represents a setback in the Center-State relations. The choice of the location and the timing of Army presence has raised suspicion on the motives of the Modi Government. The military exercise cannot be overlooked as a routine drill, as it looked like bulldozing the State’s authority.
