Internal voices

MC Joshi

Sir — This refers to the report, “Voices against terror camps, Hafiz grow loud in POK, PAK” (October 7). Pakistan has been isolated globally. In a joint session of Pakistan’s Parliament, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif faced hard questions from the Opposition on Islamabad harbouring terrorists, strained relations with India and war-mongering. One MP from Sharif’s own party, Rana Afzal Khan, asked, “Why are we keeping Hafiz SaeedIJ”

Afzal said, during his visit to Paris, to put Pakistan’s case on Kashmir, he faced a volley of questions about Hafiz Saeed.

The other day, angry mobs took to the streets in Kotli, Neelam Valley and Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, raising slogans against the Pakistani Government and demonstrating against the terrorist camps and terror-teaching Inter-Services Intelligence-run schools in PoK, warning that they will not allow their land to be made a hub of terror. It is time for Islamabad to see the writing on the wall.
