This refers to the editorial, “Not the way to protest” (October 14). The Shiv Sena has from time-to-time resorted to poor means to seek attention. Incidents like this brings shame to India’s global identity. That it was done before a representative of a foreign country, puts India, known for its large-heartedness, into a defensive posture. The Sena must learn that there are other ways to protest. It should build a respectful image as it represents India’s democratic ethos and plural values.
