Sir — This refers to the article, “Indian economy’s best friend” (January 31) by Arindam Chaudhuri. India is a Socialist republic, and still has a mostly command-and-control economy.
A malnourished person should not worry about being over-weight. Nor should he be denied food due to fears of obesity. Similarly, India has a long way to go before it needs to worry about the pitfalls of a free market economy. The Nehruvian establishment has exploited and propagated false fears.
