Sir — This refers to the article, “Preventing the assault on our environment” (June 11) by Hiranmay Karlekar. If a land has a population more than its capacity, to talk about environment is meaningless. Since uncontrolled procreation is a dearly held credo for people, the outcome can only be a malthusian nightmare.
