UPCC media cell results finalised

PNS

With the Congress high command already finalised the list of media cell of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC), but yet to make it official, about half a dozen of leaders, who were part of media team before it was disbanded by Raj Babbar last month, are confident that they will be once again selected for the job.

“Written examination is just a formality to sideline some of the leaders from media team but we are confident and know that our names is there in the final list which will be announced any time now”, disclosed one of senior former spokesman hailing from Eastern UP. The leader was eagerly waiting for the list here at UPCC office on Friday afternoon.

Another prominent spokesman from lucknow also showed his full confidence that despite of announcement that media team will be much younger this time then earlier one even then his name will be there in the final list. Interestingly some of the former spokespersons were also worried hoping that non-inclusion of their names in the list will reflect that as if they failed in the examination. They are also worried that they might be not dropped just due to age factor. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) is trying to rope in some young faces also in the media team to give it younger look, particularly as the Party is now headed by a youth leader, Rahul Gandhi.

It may be mentioned that after state president Raj Babbar disbanded the media cell of UPCC, a team from AICC led by national spokesperson, Priyanka Chaturvedi and AICC social media coordinator Rohan Gupta, reached here last week and took written examination of all those who were interested to get their names in the fresh media panel. The written examination was also conducted this week for the second time for those candidates who failed to appear last week. However, the move of taking examination sparks controversy but the AICC was quick to defuse it claiming that the exercise was not new and already executed in Gujarat, Karnatka and now in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and some other states. Not only this, Rohat Gupta even tried to convinced the leader claiming that no one will be failed or passed but it was just an aptitude team after which every aspirant will be given some or the other responsibility in the Party.
