Devi Prasad and Palla Rajeshwar Reddy on Wednesday filed nomination papers as the candidates of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti from two graduate constituencies of Telangana legislative Council. While Devi Prasad, who resigned from the Government job to enter the fray, is the candidate from Mehbubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad Graduate constituency, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy is contesting from Khammam-Warangal Nalgonda.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and senior Ministers T Harish Rao and Tummala Nageshwara Rao were present when Rajeshwar Reddy filed his nomination in Nalgonda.

Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was still conspiring to create obstacles in the development of Telangana and the Centre was supporting him. "The BJP does not have any right to seek votes in this election as it was an ally of anti-Telangana TDP," he said. He reminded people that by merging seven mandals into Andhra Pradesh, the BJP Government at the Centre had hurt the people of Khammam district.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari said that the results of MlC polls will prove once again that the people have full faith in leadership of K Chandrashekar Reddy. Devi Prasad, who filed nomination in Hyderabad was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali and senior Ministers N Narasimha Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao.

Devi Prasad, the former president of Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers Organisation is the third key leader of Government employees to join the TRS. Earlier Swamy Goud was made the Chairman of legislative Council and Srinivas Goud was elected to legislative Assembly.

With BJP-TDP alliance and Congress also entering the fray, a contest looks inevitable. While March 2 will be the last day for the withdrawal, polling is scheduled for March 16.
