In a major development in the murder case of seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur, the Gurugram Police on Friday summoned the CEO and trustees of the Ryan Group and institutuions for further questioning. Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), to whom the case has been transferred, has registered an FIR in connection with the matter as it has received notification from the Haryana Government.

Although, the State Government decided to hand the case to the CBI, they were asked to appear before the State police on September 26.

Earlier, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday refused to stay the arrest of the Ryan Group’s Chief Executive Officer Ryan Pinto and two trustees Augustine Pinto and Grace Pinto over the murder of a boy at its Gurugram branch in Bhondsi. The matter will now be heard on September 25.

The Pinto family’s anticipatory bail plea was earlier rejected by the Bombay High Court, citing jurisdiction issues.

Police sources confirmed that a member of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) went to Mumbai and served the notice to Pintos.

Sources further said the Pinto family had ensured that they will fully cooperate in the investigation and if they create any problem they could be arrested.

Earlier, Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar, following a demand from the victim’s family, had announced on September 15 that the probe will be taken over by the CBI.

In a letter to the Union Government, the State Government said the CBI should probe all different angles of the case.

Victim’s parents had also demanded that strict actions must be taken against the school management and the guilty people should put behind the bars.

As of now, police have arrested Ashok Kumar, a bus conductor and prime accused in the case. Regional head of the school Francis Thomas and HR head Jayesh Thomas have been booked under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.

Thomas Francis and Jayesh Thomas were arrested by the Haryana Police, had also moved an application for regular bail in Gurugram court on September 18 but was rejected.
