CM opens underground reservoir

In order to improve water supply in 14 villages and 27 colonies in the national Capital, Delhi Chief Minister and Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday inaugurated an underground reservoir of 165 lakh litre capacity and 'Booster Pumping Station' (BPS) at Karala in Mundka Assembly Constituency.

Addressing the gathering, Kejriwal said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) formed the Government on the promise of developing unauthorised colonies and introducing basic amenities such as providing water and improving road and sever lines; five year back. "I am happy to announce that development works are either finished or being carried out on the entire front in all these colonies.

With the commissioning of the project, population of 14 villages and 27 colonies will be benefited. "It has been 70 years after independence, but still these areas are struggling with the basic facilities. What have we done in last five years, other parties did nothing in these colonies in 70 years. They do not want to do it actually due to lack of intention to do it. They indulge in corruption and blame game instead of doing developmental work in the city," Kejriwal added.

Attacking both the BJP and the Congress, the chief minister said these parties used to ask votes on the promise of regularisation of these colonies and improving the basic amenities but they failed to do it as they never intended to develop these areas. "We reduce electricity rate, provided free water and started developing unauthorised colonies but the Congress developed only VIP areas for their own comfort," he added.
