BJP Delhi chief greets teachers on guru utsav

BJP Delhi president Satish Upadhyay has offered good wishes to all the educators on the occasion of Teacher’s Day. He said that Centre’s decision to celebrate Teacher’s Day as Guru Utsav is logical and commendable because teachers not only provide bookish knowledge to the students but also make them cultured. Upadhyay said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given due respect to the great educationist and former President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by choosing Teacher’s Day for his message to the students and teachers. He has recognised the importance of the contribution of the teachers in the nation building. The BJP leader said that the way in which we respect our religious teachers by celebrating Guru Poornima in a religious way, similarly our teachers should also be honoured. Hence, the Central Government has taken a right step in the public interest by deciding to celebrate Teacher’s Day as Guru Utsav.
