Symposium on Ambedkar held

PNS

The district unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) organised a one-day symposium to mark the 123 birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar at the party office here on Monday. The speakers paid rich tribute to Ambedkar on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion the State general secretary and BSP candidate from Tehri lok Sabha constituency Sheesh Pal Choudhary said that life and works of Ambedkar are a constant source of inspiration and his principles should be followed by all. He called upon the ‘neglected’ sections of the society to unite and fight for their rights. Choudhary also offered floral tribute to the great leader on the occasion.

The district president of BSP MS Koli said that Ambedkar never encouraged his worship instead he insisted that the dalit movement and mission should be followed and respected. He regretted that the educated and economically well off among the Dalits have deliberately alienated themselves from the Dalit movement. He asked the party workers to work untiringly for the party candidates in the ensuing general elections.
