Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to reach Dehradun airport at about 8:15 AM on Saturday. From the airport he will leave by helicopter for Kedarnath where he is slated to spend Saturday night. On Sunday morning he will fly to Badrinath to offer his prayers and later in afternoon the same day he will return to New Delhi from Dehradun airport.

To review the security arrangements ahead of the PM’s proposed visit, Director General (DG) Law and Order, Ashok Kumar conducted a police briefing in State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) premises at Jolly Grant on Friday. He issued strict instruction for all personnel on duty to avoid using mobile phones during the visit.

Any personnel found chatting or absent from the place of duty will have to face action afterwards. The DG said, “We have conducted briefing and rehearsal in Dehradun, Kedarnath and Gauchar for the proposed visit of PM on Saturday. The brief was basically about the norms for VVIP visit.

Officers have been instructed to make sure that there is not even one per cent lapse in the PM’s security plans. Point to point role and duties of the officers have been decided. Who will be stationed where and what their role will be was discussed during the briefing.”

It is pertinent to mention here that after paying his obeisance at Kedarnath, the PM is also expected to review the reconstruction works there. After offering prayers at Badrinath on Sunday, he will reach the national capital just a few days before the counting of votes polled in the Lok Sabha election.
