Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre has forecast moderate to rather heavy rainfall at isolated places in the State from June 30. At the same time, the MeT office has forecast light to moderate rain/thunderstorm at a few places in Kumaon region and light rain/thunderstorm at isolated places in Garhwal region of Uttarakhand on Sunday.The higher reaches of the mountainous districts of Uttarakhand received light to moderate rainfall while light rainfall occurred at few places in the plain districts on Saturday.In Dehradun, sunny day was witnessed throughout the day. The maximum temperature was two notches above the normal. It, however, rose by around 10 degrees as compared to Friday. It was 23 degrees Celsius on Friday while on Saturday it stood at 34 degrees Celsius.
Dr Anand Sharma, director of Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre, said that the maximum and minimum temperatures in Dehradun were recorded at 34.1°C and 23.0°C respectively on Saturday. The weather forecast for Dehradun on Sunday is mainly clear becoming partly cloudy towards afternoon/evening. Thunder cloud development may occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures for Dehradun are likely to be around 34°C and 24°C respectively on Sunday. The weather forecast for Sunday is light to moderate rain at a few places in Kumaon region and light rain/thunderstorm at isolated places in Garhwal region.
