Newly appointed Dehradun SSP Pushpak Jyoti assumed charge on Monday evening and said his priority would be to check crimes in the district. He chaired a meeting with circle officers and police station in- charges and gave them necessary instructions to check crimes in their jurisdictional areas.
The appointment of IPS Pushpak Jyoti as Dehradun SSP turned out to be a point of discussion among the people and the SSP office and Police Headquarters as well.
Notably, IPS Jyoti is senior to IPS Ajay Rautela and both the IPS officers are expected to get promotion at DIG rank in January. As things stand now he would discharge duties simultaneously as Dehradun SSP and as DIG/SSP Dehradun for the time being.
