Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Surendra Singh Negi inaugurated 26 different schemes and laid down the foundation stone of 41 schemes in different parts of Pauri district while stressing that the State Government was committed to facilitating the desired level of development in Uttarakhand.
Though Pauri MlA Sl Mandrawal and Srinagar MlA Ganesh Godiyal were present on the occasion, the absence of Garhwal MP Satpal Maharaj and his wife and Cabinet Minister Amrita Rawat on the occasion was being seen as a sign of the MP still being miffed at not being made the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand though the names of Rawat and Maharaj were inscribed prominently on the foundation stones.
Various schemes worth Rs 2,508.72 lakh were inaugurated including 13 district sector schemes, four State sector, three Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, five centrally aided schemes and the Mundaneshwar village group water pumping scheme. Foundation stones were laid for a total of 41 schemes worth Rs 16,070.03 lakh by Negi.
Addressing the gathering, Negi said that much development had been achieved during the tenure of the Congress government in 2002-07. During the disaster in June 2013, the public exhibited courage and patience. The condition in the disaster affected areas had improved now, he said while stressing on the need to ensure effective execution of developmental works.
