The Education and sports Minister Arvind Pandey chaired a meeting organised for successful organisation of the “Khel Mahkumbh 2018” held at State secretariat on Tuesday.
In the meeting the Minister directed the officials to provide better environment for the block, district and State level sports competitions and ensure the participation of the sportspersons from the remote areas of the State.
He said that the selection of the State level sportspersons should be completed before the assigned dates of the national sports events. The Minister suggested that the officials should coordinate with the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) and Youth welfare department and complete the registration and selection process in time.
Pandey directed the officials to conduct the sports event at Nyay Panchayat, Block and district level as per the calendar and publicise the event as much as possible. Pandey directed to double the sum of cash award to the sports persons and enquired about the registration process of 7500 sports persons started last year. He said that football was once very popular sports of the State and directed to conduct a mega football event in the State.
The officials from Education, Sports and Youth welfare departments were present on the occasion.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Sports and Youth Welfare Bhupendra Kaur Aulakh, additional Secretary sports Atar Singh, Joint Director Sports Prashant Arya, Principal Maharana Pratap Sports College Rajesh Mamgain, Junior secretary sports Dipti Singh and others.
