Congress councillors at Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) staged protest outside the cabin of Dehradun Mayor Vinod Chamoli demanding stringent action against the builders encroaching on the MCD land.
Spearheading the protest leader of opposition at MCD Ninu Sehgal stated that builders have encroached on the MCD land near Vijay Colony, ward number seven. He said that a flat is being constructed and a boundary wall has been constructed by the builders near the flat on the MCD land.
He said that the previous Mukhya Nagar Adhikari, Ashok Kumar had given instruction to demolish the boundary wall but no action has been taken yet by the MCD officials. The protesters urged the mayor to conduct a survey of all the wards and instruct the officials to mark MCD land and the land encroached in each ward.
