Devendra Singh Panwar, a retired assistant engineer of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL), was pleasantly surprised when his pending pension arrears, stuck up in the bureaucratic red tape for the past two years, were paid to him soon after he complained on the CM App. He had superannuated from the service in April 2016, but his pension arrears amounting to Rs 17.78 lakh had not been paid to him.
Panwar had submitted applications to the UPCL and the state treasury, requesting for prompt clearance of his pension arrears. But disappointment was what he faced over the two years with his due eluding him.
Acting on suggestion given by someone, he lodged an online complaint on the CM App.
Panwar, who had lost faith in the system, was surprised when he was contacted by an officer of the CM's office soon after he lodged the complaint and the full details of the matter were received from him.
On the instructions of the CM office, the UPCL and treasury swung into action and within days, his pending arrears were paid.
The chief treasurer, Dehradun, confirmed that the outstanding payment of the pensioner Devendra Singh Panwar has been made.
