A three-day workshop on fun with microbes organised by Society of Pollution and Environmental Conservation Scientists (SPECS), Dehradun was inaugurated here on Thursday. Thirty five participants from different parts of Garhwal region are attending the workshop which is catalysed and supported by NCSTC, Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi.
Uttarakhand State Council of Science and Technology (UCOST) scientific officer DP Uniyal said that children generally learn a concept more easily when it is demonstrated through some experiments. The present scheme has been developed keeping this fact in mind. The experiments which have been designed will give them enough scope to isolate beneficial microorganisms from their surroundings and they will be able to see and study them using this low cost module.
