City Patrol Unit personnel manhandled
Dehradun: In another incident of police being at the receiving end of the law-breakers’ blows, City Patrol Unit personnel were manhandled by unidentified persons when they were conducting vehicle checking drives in Kotwali police station area on Monday night. CPU personal Harish Chandra Joshi registered a complaint and a case under sections 332/353/506/511 of IPC was registered against unidentified persons in Kotwali police station.
Man held for securing loan by forged papers
Dehradun: Dehradun police have arrested one Sanjay Subba, resident of Clement Town who was allegedly involved in securing loan of around `15 lakh with forged document from a Dehradun-based Central Bank of India. A case under sections 419/420/467/468/471/120b of IPC was registered against him in Cantt police station.
ABJMS protest at district headquarters
Dehradun: Demanding arrest of the accused of sexual violence cases involving women and children reported in Haridwar and Dehradun districts in the recent past, Akhil Bharatiya Janwadi Mahila Samiti members protested at district headquarters on Tuesday. The protesters assembled at Parade Ground and rallied till Collectorate. Indu Naudiyal, one of the protesters, said that around dozens of sexual violence cases involving women and children have been reported in Haridwar and Dehradun in the past ten days. They demanded stringent action against the accused.
