The bus services in the tricity were affected due to four-hour long strike call given by Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) workers union on Friday. Over thousands of passengers, including daily commuters, students faced trouble as ‘chakka jam’—a strike call by CTU workers union paralysed the public transport. The employees observed strike from 10 am to 2 pm. The strike affected the service of over 500 buses here. The strike was the outcome of the impasse between the Administration and the CTU Workers Union over purchase of new buses, salary issues.
