Punjab Health Department cured

The malady of non-cooperation, that had afflicted the Punjab Health department when Madan Mohan Mittal was at the helm of affairs, seems to have been cured. Ever since the Punjab Government changed the line of treatment of the Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, the department is, apparently, breathing more comfortably. The former in-charge, Minister Mittal and Dr Sidhu would hardly ever agreed upon the same line of action, particularly when they came to private practice by the Government doctors. But now, with the new Minister in-charge agreeing with whatever Dr Sidhu dignoses and prescribes, the symptoms of restlessness seems to have abated. One of the first things new Health Minister Surjit Kumar Jiyani did was to issue a public statement against government docs practicing privately, in sync with the suggestions made by Dr Sidhu. The Department officials too are happy with the cabinet reshuffle of BJP ministers that brought Jiyani to the helm of affairs. Dr Sidhu and Minister Jiyani, keep on prescribing the dosage and both of you won’t have to go in for a second opinion.

Gen next has their own cricketing heroes

Generation gap is well explained for cricket enthusiast. The master blaster’s retirement, prompted many impromptu cricket fans, as well as the hardcore ones to turn their back on cricket. But in the course of time with the game, the fans have evolved too. There is respect for the big names but the neo-generation favorites are likes of Kohli, Yuvraj and Dhawan. The love for the game is still intact in the veins, flowing as religion in the blood and the frenzy, that the crowd displayed while getting their share of ticket for Saturday’s match proves that, gladiators comes and gladiators go, but the arena remains with its share of crowd, cheering for their favorites.

Superstition prevails in Haryana Congress

As Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has already declared his ambitious ‘Shakti’ rally as an exemplary rally in Gohana, Hooda loyalists are going extra mile to corroborate it… Keeping in view of party’s internal rift due to anti-Hooda lobby, Hooda loyalist Phool Chand Mullana brought a Jind based ‘Pandit’ on October 15 here at Haryana Congress Bhawan to know the future of their status in the party. Mullana spent more than half an hour with Pandit before attending the MlAs and MPs meeting at Haryana Niwas. When mediapersons asked Mullana about Pandit’s visit, he refused to give details and added that Pandit came here for his own purpose.

‘Gulabi’ ka Sahara

With Haryana Chief Minister’s announcement to make Pink colour as an official colour for the upcoming ‘Shakti’ rally at Gohana in Sonepat district, most of Congress leaders have started purchasing their pink turbans or pink dupattas nowdays to show not only their loyalty towards Hooda, but also to keep pressure on bureaucracy for their day- to-day works, by showing their closeness to Hooda. According to sources in the State Congress, earlier too, when such coloured turbans were distributed among Haryana Congressmen to show the representation of Haryana Congress people in the November’s rally at Ramleela ground Delhi last year, local leaders used these turbans as pressure tactics on bureaucracy at that time.
