The Chandigarh police on Wednesday registered one more FIR against the High court lawyers, who allegedly violated section 144 which was imposed near Raj Bhawan and also manhandled some police officials there.
“Section 144 was imposed near Raj Bhawan since the evening of Tuesday to maintain law and order. However lawyers of High court on Wednesday attempted to cross the limits set up by UT police and also manhandled police officials in which more than 10 police personnel got injured. Police used water cannons to handle the situation,” said Naunihal Singh, SSP UT police.
An FIR against unidentified lawyers of High court has been registered under section 147 and 148 of IPC for violating section 144. “Further Chandigarh police will investigate the case and accused lawyers will be identified by name for violating Section 144,” the SSP added.
