A two-day ‘Make in India’ conference would be held here on December 1 and 2 this year with focus on the ‘Make in Odisha’ campaign.
A preparatory meeting for the proposed conference was held under chairmanship of Chief Secretary AP Padhi at the State Secretariat here on Friday.
Notably, the Central Government had proposed to organise a ‘Make in India’ conference here to attract more investment to various industrial and steel sector of Odisha.
“The State Government aims to attract more investments and development through the ‘Make in Odisha’ campaign to be held on the sidelines of the ‘Make in India’ conference,” the Chief Secretary told reporters after meeting.
The conference would be organised by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) of the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industries to attract more investments to Odisha as well as to other States of the country. The State Government had earlier requested the Ministry to hold the conference in the first week of December.
