Counting of the votes for the Dhamnagar Assembly by-election would begin at 8 am on Sunday, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sushil Kumar Lohani said on Saturday.
The arrangements for counting have been made at the Sanskriti Bhawan in Bhadrak town. About 14 large tables are in place and the counting would be completed in 18 rounds. The postal ballots would be counted first. The results of the by-poll are expected by around 2 pm.
Elaborate three-tier security arrangements have been made by the district administration. Teams of CRPF and Odisha police have been deployed.
All electronic voting machines (EVMs), used in the by-poll, have been kept in specially-designated strong rooms, the CEO said.
