Alleging that the Emami Paper Mills has engaged outside company Varun Integrated logistics for transportation of materials, truck owners under the banner of the Baleswar Transport Coordination Committee (BTCC) has threatened to stage agitation in front of the Emami Paper Mills from Wednesday if their demand is not fulfilled.
They said that by doing this, the company has violated the agreement made with local transporters in mediation of the district administration and the local transporters have been sitting idle for the same, rued the members.
“We will not allow any outside trucks to enter the company premises,” said a truck owner. On the other hand, the company officials said that the transportation was finalised through e-tender, competitive bidding and the lowest price quoted company was awarded the tender for transportation.
