The Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna convicted Dr Antaryami Sahoo, Surgery Specialist, Medical Officer, District Headquarters Hospital, Nuapada in a bribery case and sentenced him to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for period of 4 years and to pay fine of `2,000.
In default of payment of fine, Sahoo has to further undergo RI for a period of 4 months.
A case was registered against Sahoo for demand of `4,000 from complainant Harihar Meher for hydrosol operation. During course of investigation Dr Sahoo was caught red handed in 2012 by the Vigilance sleuths. Sahoo was facing a trial.
