Police officials interrogated former Mayor of the Brahmapur Municipal Corporation (BMC) and BJP leader Siva Shankar Das for the second day on Monday about the land-grabbing and financial offences allegedly committed by him.
Das, who is on a four-day police remand, is kept at the Golanthara police station for interrogation. “Senior police personnel, including the Additional SP, all SDPOs and IICs of various police stations, question him one by one,” said Golanthara police station IIC Alok Jena.
So far, seven cases have been filed against the former Mayor. Hence, the police are trying to gain additional information regarding the cases. A team consisting of the SDPO and inspectors has been formed for the interrogation. The police would investigate all the cases lodged against Das and examine involvement of any other person
During the last three days, three new cases have been lodged against 40-year-old Das. Notably, the ex-Mayor was arrested from New Delhi on July 8.
